Garrett Jensen
Public Member
Garrett Jensen, Public Member, was appointed to the Board by Robert Rivas, Speaker of the Assembly, in November 2025.
Jensen is the Managing Director of Friends of the University of California in Sacramento. With a background in policy, he previously served as a Legislative Director in the California State Assembly and a Consultant in the State Senate.
Prior to a career in government, Garrett worked for EY (Ernst & Young) in Silicon Valley where he worked to expand college access for underserved students across 35 U.S. cities.
He is a current board member of Slow Down Sacramento, the Sierra Curtis Neighborhood Association, and the Sacramento County Bicycle Advisory Committee.
Garrett received a BS in accounting from Santa Clara University and an MPP and MA Ed (POLS) from Stanford University.
His term expires on January 15, 2027.
